Donna's First Appointment

My friend Donna went to her first Natural Health Care doctors appointment Monday. After she had a very humorous story about finding a cotton outfit, she told be about how he analyzes your body. Let me say that you learn alot about your body here and your organs. Donna learned that her body does not work well with milk or anything that has dairy in it. Her body does not work well with Wheat or any kind of rice. She learned a few other things her body does not work well with, but I did not write them all down. The doctor also told her that her heart was in great shape, but her gall bladder was not working as it should. This are just what the doctor was telling her as he did the tests. She will get everything in writing next week as to how she should start to heal her body. I do know the first 21 days are a cleansing process to get all of the toxins out of your body.

Let me tell you about some of the tests he did. The tests are called nutrition response testing. From what Donna was telling me you would put your left hand on say wheat and if your right hand that you are holding up falls a bit, you do not work well with that. It may seem confusing and weird, but I have heard so many success stories from people who are seeing this doctor. You do this with several food items and the doctor will learn what works best with your body. This does not mean you can't eat or drink certain things for the rest of your life. You will keep them out of your diet for a while and then they may bring it back to see if your body is more accepting of it. I have heard for a very long time now that Wheat, as we all think, is not the best for most people to be eating.

As I was talking to my husband last night, he was telling me about people he works with that are seeing this doctor as well. One guy had a high amount of mercury in his body. The doctor asked him if he worked near a factory or plant. He said yes, there is one right down on the river from his work. I thought that was amazing that even if you are not near a plant or factory, that produces all that smoke and pollution you can see affects in our bodies.

I wish I could give you more, but my first appointment is next Wednesday. I will have a first hand experience on what exactly goes on. Especially being a type 1 diabetic. What will pop up in the tests he runs on me? The people that go to this doctor who are type 2 diabetics have been saying their blood sugars are consistently running in the 90's. Is that not exciting!!!! I will let you know what my blood sugars will be running as a type 1 diabetic when I start the program. To read more about the tests go to The first 2 tabs at the top of the page will describe the tests and there is a picture, at the top of the page, of him doing the tests.

I do want to add one thing. I am working on my own website and will have it up in the next few weeks hopefully. This current site does not seem to be very user friendly or look that great. I have found away to make it more eye appealing and be able to create links for you as well. I will post the new website as soon as I have it up. I am looking forward to getting it put together for you.

Thank you for stopping to see what is up in the world of Natural Health Care.

What do you think about raw milk?

OK, it is getting closer to the day I have my first appointment with the natural health care doctor. Two weeks to be exact. My friend has her first appointment next Monday the 24th. She is going to give me the low down, so be checking back.

I have been reading the natural heath care website and they have a links section and the very first link is to a farm that sells raw milk. My brother has been drinking raw milk, from a goat, for a while and he absolutely loves it. A few weeks ago we went to a friends house, for game night, and raw milk came up in the conversation. I then saw this link on the natural health care website for raw milk. I have known for a while that this is the best way to be getting your milk because it is more natural, but it appears to me that I have been hearing so much about it, that the Lord may be trying to tell me something. With that in mind I decided to do some research. I first looked up how milk is pasteurized. I found a site that talked about a lot of things that are way over my head and I did not understand. My simple mind immediately thinks that if it is so complicated, that I can't understand it, it is not good for me. I then found a site that explains raw milk to me. It was so much easier to understand. Here is the website: Let me know what you think. I would love to know what other people are thinking about drinking raw milk.

I don't think God made milk cows the way they are if he did not want us to drink their milk in the natural state.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Natural Health Care

A friend of mine at work has been seeing a natural heathcare doctor for about 5 weeks now. I forgot that she said she was doing this until I saw how much weight she was losing. I asked her about it and she did not have enough good things to say about this doctor and the programe. She has a few different health issues and going to this doctor not only has helped her energy level, and losing weight, but it has also helped her with some of these other issues as well. I was then curious about it and she gave me one of their cards. I went to their website to see what I could find out. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the more I read the less skeptical I became.

For a few years now I have been trying to eat better and knew that God designed our bodies to live off the land and not from all the chemically altered and processed foods we consume today. Everytime you turn around you hear about someone with cancer. It is my belief most of our health issues are caused by the way we eat. This doctor designs a program for you that works with your own body and wants you to eat real food "as designed by God." That is what they say on their website. That was the statement that really got me to consider this program. I do not have a whole lot of health issues, but I know I should be eating better than I am and my food intake should be meat that is not chemically stimlated, vegetables that are free of pesticides or whatever else it is they treat them with to make them huge. Our bodies were not designed to eat things we can't pronounce.

I did call the doctors office and set up an appointment. The earliest one I could get was Sept. 2 2009, so I have a little less than a month before I get started. I am going to post updates as I go. I have also referred a few friends from work and we all are going about the same time. I am going to ask for their input as they go, so you will get as much information as possible to see if this truly works. My husband also has a friend on the program and he loves it and says he is doing great and feels great. 3 out of the 5 of us are diabetics, so I will be asking them a lot of questions to see if this will help you in your diabetic walk.

I am very excited about this program and have high hopes that this is going to give me my energy back and fix anything, I don't know about yet, that may be wrong with my health. I am sure this will prevent me from having any future problems that could pop up by eating the way I do now.

I asked my husband if he would do it and at first he wanted to see what it does for me, but when he talked to his friend about it, he is leaning more towards starting it soon.

I will let you know if he does.

What is an A1C?

Have you ever wondered why the doctor takes so many blood tests every time we go to see them? In the life of a diabetic doctors are doing their best to make sure you stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Being a diabetic we are susceptible to more problems such as high cholesterol, heart disease, etc. If your doctor is not taking any blood tests when you go, that might be a sure sign you need to find another doctor. One of the blood tests that my doctor runs on me almost every time I go is called an A1C. Do you know what that is? This is a blood test that gives the doctors an idea of what your blood sugars have been doing for the last 3 months. I could go into a more technical definition, but I will keep it simple. The levels of our A1C's tell the doctors if they need to help you get your blood sugars under better control as well. My A1C's usually run 6.0 or under. If they run at 6.2, the doctors are not going to freak out, but they may want to see you more frequently. In my opinion it is best to keep them under 6.0. You may ask how do I do this. We are in a world of high carbohydrate foods. Why not change the way you are eating. I know this is hard because yes I love my carbohydrates too, but why not eat the more natural carbs. Like sweet potatoes and carrots. It is summertime let's load up our freezers and cubboards with vegetables that we like. I know one thing that always make my blood sugars go out of wack is when I eat canned spaghetti sauce or tomato soup. Let's buy our own tomatoes or better yet grow our own and can them. This way you are not eating, the ingredients you can't pronounce, to your food. Fresh is always best. Does that not seem like a great idea. You then can eat fresh vegetables all year long. Our bodies were not really designed to be eating all the preservatives and other stuff that is added to make things last longer in a can or freezer.

One of the links on my page has what she calls a box garden. $5 dinners has planeted vegetables in boxes that she made out of wood and has had a great success with her garden. If you do not have a lot of land you can still have a garden. My husband and I have been talking about this because we would like to this next year. It is so much cheaper to grow your own vegetables and when they are planted in a box you don't have to weed them. James and I have 1 cherry tomato plant this year and 3 zuccini plants in containers and we did not have to weed them, so if you are pressed for time the box garden is a great way to go. Visit to see her garden. She bought the book for this on Next year we are going to do the same so we can save even more on our grocery bill.

Sorry, I got a little side tracked on what we were talking about, but it is very important to get your blood sugars under the best control possible, so you can live a very long and healthy life. Yes it is hard work, but isn't your life worth it. God has put us all here for a reason and I don't want to go home until I have completed what He has put me on earth to do.

There are some great articles for A1C's on I just found that site this morning and they send out newletters to you on e-mail for free. Check it out.
